The course has been arranged on an annual basis since 1981 and has followed the profound development of the industry. Since 1981 the total attendance has been more than 3000 participants from 280 companies and universities, representing 56 countries.

The course provides an updated, comprehensive review of the state of the art of aluminium production. New Developments are emphasised. The course is aimed at personnel working in the field of commercial aluminium electrolysis at all levels, including technical and project managers, superintendents, supervisors, potroom engineers, suppliers as well as research metallurgists.

The aim of the course is to “Understand the process and act accordingly”. Not only lectures but also Group discussions of actual problems and social arrangements with informal discussions are important parts of the course.

Venue

The Course will be held at Scandic Nidelven hotel, Trondheim, Norway and start on Monday June 17 at 08:30 and finished at Friday, June 21 14:30. A complementary visit to Hydro Aluminium Sunndal, will be arranged on Saturday June 22, 07:30 – 17:30. Trondheim is reached directly by air from London, Amsterdam, Copenhagen or Oslo. Scandic Nidelven Hotel is located near an attractive shopping and restaurant area in town. The Bus Værnes Ekspressen leaves from the airport arrival area and stops at Royal Garden hotel about 100 m from Scandic Nidelven hotel.

Course fee is NOK 31 000

The payment includes complete course materials, all lunches and coffee breaks, a city tour and social arrangements on Monday, Tuesday and the course dinner on Thursday. Hotel is not included. Accompanying person may attend the social arrangements without charge. Complete Course books will be handed out on Monday morning.

Registration should be received in Trondheim before, May 31, 2024. Registration after May 31 is possible, but a surcharge of NOK 1000 will be added.
